How to Make a Vision Board
A Vision Board is quite simple to make! The most challenging part is to figure out what it is you really DESIRE! I always start with the Wheel of Life to help people visually SEE where they feel fulfilled and what areas of life are lacking. it's great food for thought!
You can find the Wheel-of-Life-Mellisawith-Instructions here.
However, there are a number of different style of vision boards you can do.
Style 1 - You know EXACTLY what you want
Style 2 - You're unsure of what you want so you simply choose images (magazines or online) that inspire you and make you feel WONDERFUL inside)
Style 3 - A themed Vision Board (this could be fitness, a wedding, a vacation etc)
Maybe your dream board will contain elements of all three!
I love doing DIGITAL VISION BOARDS. For that, I use Instagram GRID (in the app store) and gather 9 pictures of what I truly love. I have vision boards for adventures, for tattoos, for fitness, for my business, and more! I love these because I put them on as a phone background which means I see it OFTEN.
If you're more traditional or want to do a physical vision board (I have these as well and do them in workshops, or when I want a digital break and am feeling artsy!) you will need:
- poster board
- glue sticks
- images from magazines or printed out
- markers or colored pencils
- scissors
- Find your images. Choose pictures that truly inspire you inside and just looking at them make you feel INCREDIBLE! If you're HAPPY SCALE goes sky high when you see that image... that's the image! Choose what you DESIRE! Use online sources or magazines.
- Arrange and Paste your Images onto poster board or into digital photo grid. You can also write WORDS that you find inspirational.
- Decorate your poster board with fun, eye catching things (ribbons, or colored markers, glitter etc)
- Put your Vision Board somewhere you will see it and ponder it OFTEN. Try to spend 15 minutes a day POSITIVELY VISUALIZING yourself having, being, doing all the things on your visionboard!
